Accessibility Statement
Last updated: June 27, 2026
This statement applies to the vareadyapp.com website and to VA Ready on iOS and Vet Ready on Android — the same software product released under different names per platform.
Our Commitment
VA Ready is built by veterans, for veterans — and many of the veterans we serve live with disabilities, including those affecting vision, hearing, motor control, and cognition. We are committed to making our app and website usable by everyone, regardless of ability or the assistive technology they rely on.
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Measures We Take
- Semantic, structured HTML so screen readers can navigate headings, lists, and landmarks
- Descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images and icons
- Color combinations chosen for sufficient contrast against our dark theme
- Layouts that reflow and remain usable on phones, tablets, and at increased text sizes — including full-screen, larger-touch-target views on iPad and Android tablets
- In the app, support for the platform's built-in accessibility features (Dynamic Type / font scaling, VoiceOver and TalkBack labels, and system Dark Mode)
- Keyboard-operable navigation on the website
Conformance Status
We consider the website and app to be substantially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA. "Substantially conformant" means most of the content meets the standard, though some parts may not yet fully conform. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we review and improve it as the product evolves.
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some limitations may remain. Areas we are actively working to improve include third-party embedded content, complex data tables, and ensuring every newly added page and feature meets the same standard before release. If you encounter a barrier that is not listed here, please tell us — your feedback directly shapes what we fix next.
Important Note on Content
Accessibility is about how you access the information. It does not change the nature of that information: VA Ready is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Ratings, benefit estimates, and filing guidance are educational, based on publicly available VA regulations (38 CFR) and documented best practices, and are not legal or medical advice. See our Terms of Service for the full disclaimer.
Giving Feedback or Reporting a Barrier
If you experience any difficulty accessing any part of VA Ready, Vet Ready, or this website — or if you need information provided in a different format — we want to hear from you and will do our best to help.
- Email: support@vareadyapp.com
- In the app: Profile → Send Feedback
Please include the page or screen, the device and assistive technology you were using, and a description of the problem. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback promptly.
Formal Approval
